Latest Piece – Blue and Clear Pate de Verre Vessel

Here is a picture of our latest piece .  It is a glass vessel made using the Pate de Verre technique.  This involves using crushed glass as a paste to line a mould which is then fired in a kiln.  The granules of glass fuse together to form a fine crystalline texture that looks almost like spun sugar.

Exhibition Photo – Water Feature at Oriel Ty Coch

We visited Oriel Ty Coch (Red House Gallery) Art Gallery yesterday in Pontcanna, Cardiff.  They are featuring our RHS Cardiff Show water feature as part of an exhibition of outside inspired art.  Here’s a quick photo of the water feature in place.  The water feature measured 750mm high x 250mm wide and is priced at £1199.99 including reservoir, pump etc.

Oriel Ty Coch will also be showing our other glass pieces on a longer term basis including our range of sushi dishes, coasters and more.

Fused Glass S Curve

Mini S Curve

This small piece measures 13cm x 8cm and can be used just for decoration or as a candle holder or key rest.  It’s made with a range of blue translucent glass which has been fired multiple times up to temperatures of 1400 degrees Fahrenheit.

We continue to produce different fused glass for the home and garden.  Here are two of the latest pieces – a set of candy stripe coasters, and a lovely blue stripe sushi dish.

The coasters are priced at £40.00 for a set of 4 and measure 10cm x 10cm.  The sushi dish measures 20cm x 20cm and is priced at £75.00

The water feature gets a new home too

The water feature that was featured in the medal winning show garden in Cardiff has now moved to it’s temporary new home at Oriel Ty Coch (Red House Gallery for us English speakers) where it will feature in an exhibition inspired by the outside.  Here are a couple of behind the scenes mobile photos of the water feature being installed.

Light Kiln Glass goes abroad…. to Bristol

Great news!  We’ve just been told that one of our glass panels will be featured in an art exhibition as part of Southbank Arts Bristol’s Arts Trail on the 8th and 9th May 2010.  The piece will feature alongside loads of other glass art as well as painting and sculpture in Creative Glass Guild’s new  exhibition space.
